- EMPLOYMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES

The Department of Human Resources (DHR) conducts employment services for all county departments, including DCFS. To obtain general employment information and to find out about available jobs and application procedures, visit the Department of Human Resources at http://dhr.mylacounty.info/ Look at the Career Opportunities menu.
- EMPLOYMENT WITH DCFS
DCFS conducts limited employment services for job classifications specific to this department. To find out about job openings within the department, call the DCFS Job Hotline number at (213) 351-6417 or you may visit the county employment website at http://dhr.mylacounty.info/. Look at the Career Opportunities menu.
- CAREER DEVELOPMENT INTERN PROGRAM
These 12-24 month internships are available to former foster youth only. If you are a former foster youth and would like to participate in an entry-level clerical training program, visit the county employment website at http://dhr.mylacounty.info/. Look at the Career Opportunities menu to get information regarding minimum requirements for the internship, application procedures and the examination process. Eligible Career Development Interns may be placed at any location within the geographical service area of DCFS.
- VETERAN INTERN PROGRAM
These 12-24 month internships are available to military veterans only. If you are a military veteran who was honorably discharged from the service and would like to participate in an entry-level clerical training program, visit the county employment website at http://dhr.mylacounty.info/. Look at the Career Opportunities menu to get information regarding minimum requirements for the internship, application procedures and the examination process. Eligible Veteran Interns may be placed at any location within the geographical service area of DCFS.
- COMMUNITY-BASED ENTERPRISE EDUCATION PROGRAM (C-BEEP) INTERNSHIPS
DCFS works with the Department of Human Resources (DHR) to provide unpaid work-experience internships for college students who are in their junior or senior year or in graduate school at universities that have an internship partnership agreement with the County. A listing of the available C-BEEP internships and partnering colleges/universities, along with application procedures, are provided on the DHR website at http://dhr.mylacounty.info/. - SOCIAL WORKER INTERNSHIPS
DCFS partners with certain universities in the Southern California area to offer Children’s Social Worker (CSW) Internships. College students with a major in social work, who are entering their senior year at partner universities are eligible to apply for the internship. Current college students are encouraged to check with the guidance counselors and/or professors within the social work programs at their schools to determine whether their schools are participating as partners with DCFS to train interns. If so, application material must be obtained from the school.
